Short shameful confession.

Apparently there is a massive kerfuffle erupting in Blogovia, involving catty Twitter smackage, snarky allegations of ~gasp!~ unoriginal bloggery, strident demands for peace (my fave being "CALM THE FUCK DOWN"), and much flinging of the word "vagina." I really tried to find a side to take. FAIL.

Tiki.

I usually get home from work about 6:15, and the kittehs are waiting for me in the bushes near the garage. Cocoa comes right over to say hi and get a pat, and then follows me into the house for dinner. Tiki meows to me from the bushes, but if I try to touch her she darts away. She follows Cocoa to the front door, and then sits there. If I close the door, she cries. Doesn't want to come in through the garage if Cocoa gets to go in the front. She seems to want me to leave the door open and walk inside where she can't see me. Then she'll come in. After she's in, she comes up to me and meows for a pat.

She's so weird!

Get Smart.

I saw this movie last night with Miz 17. I was a big fan of the TV show, while she has never seen an episode, yet we both thought the film was very funny. Steve Carell did a fantastic job as Max, got Don Adams' timing and expressions totally right. Anne Hathaway began as a different kind of 99, but she softened up by the end, which was fine with me. (I've seen reviews that harp on Hathaway not doing the same 99 as Barbara Feldon.) She didn't look too young for Carell's Max either. Alan Arkin was great as the chief; Dwayne Johnson was hilarious. There was an absolutely hysterical dance scene with a fat chick dominating the floor and pissing off the skinny bitches -- loved it! Some of the gags with the technicians were a bit meh, but so were some of the gags on the show, to be honest. We loved it not anyway but because of, right? Right. I think one of the bad guys was supposed to be parodying Jaws from Moonraker, so of course I loved that, along with the airplane scenes, which were total LOL, CIA jokes, and a Prez who couldn't pronounce "nuclear."

And there was cake. What more could you ask for?

Looks like ... UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS!

Who are you? Find out @ She's Crafty

I am so Joel. I live the Joel. Who are you?

Must see.

Grapes has the hottest news story around! Check it out.

New happee!

You know that thingie some bloggers have wot magically links to your last post when you make a comment? Well, it never worked for me before because (I assume) I didn't have my titles in fields, but now I do -- and guess what?

I get the link!! Lookit <--- click there.

Lime shooz.

My old lime shoes got messed up last year, and I had the hardest time finding new ones that I could wear to work (which eliminates four-inch heels). Obvii I need them cuz I have lots of lime green clothing. I ordered these from Shoe Mall back in February, and they just arrived this week. They look a little weird to me with that thick ankle strap, but they're surprisingly comfy. I got Miz 15 to take pics last night. Yes, I know we need a paint job, shh. Just look at the shoes.

Random 13.

1. I went to a new crit group thingie last night where we shared stories we wrote from this.

2. Peeps liked mine, which was cool. I might send it in for the contest.

3. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has bad lemon bars. I'm not even that picky about lemon bars, but these were extremely FAIL.

4. While I was gone, Jeff forgot to feed the cats.

5. So Cocoa went and got a bird. She brought it in alive and tore its leg off.

6. Jeff had to finish killing it.

7. Miz 15 is taking pre-chem now, so she can take AP Chem in the fall.

8. The chem software doesn't download properly for the kids who have Macs.

9. I am ashamed of myself for laughing about that.

10. Miz 17 drove to San Diego and back by herself this week. She's all grown up!

11. My lime green shoes have finally arrived. There will be photos. You have been warned.

12. I still cannot find any cute sandals.

13. I want to see Get Smart even though the reviews have been mediocre at best. You?

Cheesecake Diva.

That is the name of the ice cream Miz 17 had last night, which garnered much interest from a certain kitteh.

No worries: it's low-fat.

Oh, the happy!

Do I have the bestest peeps, or what?

First, a big smooch to Jefe for sending me the Def Leppard song.

Second, much lurve to Don for offering to help with my post-title issue.

Third, a box of heavenly chocolates to Teacake for pointing me to where she had the "ugly line" problem and,

Fourth, Jinxi fixed it! A day at the spa and a pitcher of strawberry margaritas for Jinxi.

After following Jinxi's directions for removing the ugly-line, I then decreased the font and corrected its color, so now my new title-field post-titles appear identical to my handmade ones, but they are FIELDS, yay! (I am resisting the compulsion to go back and redo every post. Must resist. Must.)

So. Um.

My driveway appears to be missing a white Lexus 430.

It would be fun to have Attractive Nuisance published.

John Cusack forgot to ask me out to lunch.

Hey, it doesn't hurt to mention things, obvii.

P.S. I needed a blank line after the date -- and guess what? I FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO IT MYSELF!!! ~faints~

Template change FAIL.

Obviously, as this one is the same as usual. But if anyone was bored enough to click here via one of my "test" poasties today (or otherwise), you might have experienced a bit of weirdness. You were not hallucinating: I was trying to switch themes in order to get a better post title field. I hate the one that goes with this theme -- it's huge, ugly, and underlined. I've found no way to alter it, which is why I ignore it completely and make my own title in normal-sized font, bolded. But this means that my poor poasties show up in readers as "no title," and that gives me a sad. So, I experimented with other themes and found some with good title fields, but alas they were nowhere near as gorgeous as my modified Sand Dollar here, so we're sticking with this. It's weird that Sand Dollar lets you change all the colors, but the other themes I tried didn't. Color trumps title, so there you go.

In other news, it's blistering hot here, I've had a hideous headache for days that's just getting better now, Miz 15 will do chores for Jeff and Miz 17 because they pay her but not for me because "you give me money anyway," Tiki's meow has increased in volume about five hundred percent last couple days, I found some way cute stuffs on sale at Ann Taylor Loft, I still cannot find any nice white sandals, and Wheat Thins are as full of nom as they always were.

That is all. Goodnight.
